I am a performer, theatre maker and movement artist. I also work as a dramaturg and workshop facilitator.

I have worked with Mamoru Iriguchi, Tom Lyall, Cis O’Boyle, Jamie Wood, Metis Arts, Idle Women, Carlos Cueva, Magali Charrier, Sarah Levinsky, Guy Gutman and Song Chang.I have performed at The Place, CPT, BAC, Toynbee Studios, Arcola, National Review of Live Art, Shunt Vaults, Arnolfini, Riverside Studios, Chapter, Aerowaves, Summerhall, Mousonturm and Tanzhaus Zurich.

In my personal practice I work with the body. I explore the sensuous body in relation to its outside but also its inside environment. I am fascinated by our own inner ecology, the cells that constitute us and the ways they communicate with each other and beyond, forming interconnections with what surrounds us. Listening to this constant flow of exchanges the invisible dances that live in our bodies can be revealed.

Moving away from the artificial, contained spaces of the theatres, I look into the possibilities of creative encounters in unexpected and unprepared urban and natural settings.

My background is in the physical theatre of the 90s. Edging away from that under the influence of live art and experimental theatre of the 2000s, I co-founded Petra’s Pulse in 2001. We worked with objects, colours, smells, textures, body and matter creating a poetic visual and physical language.

I hold a BA in History (Deree College, Athens). I also studied directing (Stavrakou Film School, Athens) and acting (Arche Drama School, Athens) for 2 years before I left for London, curious about other ways of making theatre. In London I trained in corporeal mime (Decroux) with Desmond Jones and clown with Philippe Gaulier. I started training in Body Weather with Min Tanaka, Frank van de Ven, Christine Quoiraud and Oguri in 1999. I also trained in Butoh: my first teachers were Kazuo Ohno and Yoshito Ohno in Yokohama but my main teacher was Masaki Iwana.I have participated in workshops with some other artists who have had a big influence on my practice: Mladen Materic, Anton Adassinky, Yoshi Oida, Goat Island and Simon Whitehead.

I am a certified Somatic Movement Educator of Body-Mind Centering® and am currently in my final year of training as a practitioner of BMC®. I am a professional member of the BMCA.
